Wilder Mountain Medicine exists at the intersection of medicine, movement, and wild places. Founded by experienced clinicians and educators, Wilder Mountain Medicine provides evidence-based wilderness medicine education designed for real-world application. We believe the best learning happens not in classrooms alone but on trail, in weather, under load, and in the environments where care actually happens.
Our courses range from Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder to advanced medical training and CME-eligible programs for healthcare professionals. Every course is rooted in current medical standards, taught by seasoned instructors, and delivered through immersive, hands-on experiences that emphasize clinical judgment, adaptability, and teamwork.
We work with outdoor enthusiasts, guides, educators, organizations, and medical professionals who want more than rote protocols.
Based in New England, our programs draw inspiration from the mountains, forests, and coastlines that demand both humility and preparedness. Whether you're caring for a partner on a remote trail or leading a group miles from definitive care, our goal is the same: to help you think clearly, act decisively, and care confidently in the wild.
Clinically grounded. Wildly applicable.

Thank you Christina. I really appreciate your knowledgeable instruction. You are very approachable and seem to have infinite patience. I appreciate your feedback throughout the class. I also value your willingness to share differences of opinion and medical viewpoints. Your teaching methods and support helped me get the most out of the experience. Thank you again.
All three instructors were amazing, kind, patient, and knowledgeable! I was very privileged to be learning from them. It’s a bit hard to speak on strengths because there’s just so many, but I will say that their energy and excitement for medicine in general got me very excited to show up and be present each day. They are great instructors and I very much appreciated all the hands on activities we did, answering my questions in the side, and just being patient with me.
Christina has an awesome amount of professional and real world skills and knowledge and a great personal style and was always available to answer questions during and between scenarios! Her balance between "book info" with "this is how it manifests in the world world" seems like the ideal situation for a WFR instructor, and a great balance between taking the work seriously with a light sense of humor. Thank you Christina! Would definitely want to work with you again and recommend to others!
